Driven by a passion of both history and learning, The Medieval Dude brings history alive in a truly authentic, engaging and tangible experience. During an event with The Medieval Dude, students touch authentic armor, learn about the medieval diet, medicine, law, customs, culture, war, games, geography and religion in a tactile way. They will also handle actual historical artifacts from the medieval period.
All events are designed to address the History-Social Science Content Standards for
California Public Schools as they relate to events from 600 AD to 1500 AD. Specifically,
view the standards addressed for Kindergarten, First, Second and Seventh grades here.
Activities and lessons can be customized to cover units and topics you would like your
students to experience, and all artifacts, props and discussions are adapted for age-appropriateness.
Events are intended for classrooms of approximately 30 students, but presentations can be
adapted to any community group, civic organization, scouting packs/troops or other associations.
Pricing varies, depending on your venue, show length, travel and date availability. We charge a flat rate, that is, we do not charge per student. There are discounts for same day multiple show bookings. We serve most of Southern California, however travel fees ($35 - $50) may apply to Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, San Diego and Imperial counties.
